On behalf of the Royal Cape Yacht Club, the 2026 Portugal Day Race Organising Committee, and all the competitors and guests of the event, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to you for your generous sponsorship and support of this great annual event.
The event was an incredible triumph, showcasing the determination and camaraderie of our skippers. In 2026, not only was it the 36th edition of the event, but it was also the largest. We had a total of 63 entries, which resulted in 410 competitors. Here’s to us reaching 70 boats in 2027. The conditions were a little challenging in the beginning whilst we waited for the wind to settle; however, we managed to start the race just after 2 pm. It was a beautiful day to be on the water.
As with all events, the success of a sailing regatta as important as this one depends on the support of the community and sponsors such as yourselves, and without a doubt, contributed to the success of the RCYC Portugal Day Race.
